• Synthesized polymer nanoparticles for traumatic brain injury drug delivery. Used western blot to demonstrate nanoparticle efficacy in modulating the expression of inflammatory biomarkers in cultured microglia cells.• Developed a liposome formulation and synthesis method to increase drug encapsulation efficiency. • Designed cell viability assays to show increased stability and high potency of liposomes on inhibition of cancer cell growth.

• Developed a rapid, multiplex qPCR assay for gram-negative bacterial identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing. • Analyzed highly conserved and specific genes for various gram-negative species and designed primers/TaqMan probes against these.• Demonstrated ability of assay to accurately identify bacterial species and diagnose individual species’ drug susceptibility from a polymicrobial blood sample.
