As President, I oversee the Executive Council and Student Senate of The Student Government Association at High Point University. We are the direct link between the student body and the administration and are dedicated to serving the student body through the various organizations that are represented by our senators. Our goal is to represent the student body and provide all students with the opportunity to gain a holistic experience beyond the classroom setting. We believe that the educational experience which can be gained from club and organization involvement is tremendously influential in one’s time at HPU. The Student Senate allows all students of the University to propose resolutions, allocate funds for student organizations, and most importantly, to voice their opinions.

As the Treasurer for the Student Government Association, I was a member of the Executive Council which serves as the direct link between the student body and the administration. I also was responsible for assisting the Student Senate in the allocation of funds for each organization on campus. Through this role, I gained leadership, teamwork, and time management skills, and used this as an opportunity to run for Student Body President the following year.

I was responsible for answering the phones, talking with and assisting constituents, and aiding our advocates in whatever ways were needed at the time including drafting letters, working with various computer programs, and speaking with and relating to people on a daily basis.
