I'm currently assigned to the Miami-Dade Police Department's Court Services Bureau, and oversee the law enforcement and administrative activities of approximately 190 sworn and civilian personnel assigned to support court services throughout Miami-Dade County. I have been with MDPD for 21 years and have experienced a wide variety roles within the agency. I started as a police officer, and have held ranks through police major, experiencing and learning about law enforcement patrol, investigations, administration, and community policing.I have a passion for building and maintaining strong partnerships with the community, and have been involved in several initiatives and programs that focus on violent crime reduction, and quality of life concerns that affect our community members daily. It is an important part of my policing philosophy to enhance trust, collaboration, and problem-solving within my community. Additionally, I have completed the Policing Leadership Academy at the Harris School of Public Policy, of the University of Chicago, and the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association’s Trilogy, where I learned from experts and peers how to develop and implement innovative and effective policing policies and practices.
