Together with product management and R&D I defined the Lumileds standards & regulations strategy for the EMEA region. I executed this strategy and represented Lumileds in external standard development organizations, industry consortia and associations like the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), the German Electrotechnical Commission (DKE), the Zhaga Consortium and LightingEurope.I ensured that all relevant product standards and quality management standards are available across the company, for example to colleagues in R&D, operations and quality. This included negotiations with suppliers, procurement of required documents and the implementation of a cloud-based standards management system for use at all Lumileds sites worldwide.Next to the work on new standards I also provided training on these requirements to colleagues and customers or assisted with the interpretation of normative requirements.

As compliance officer I ensured that all products in the global portfolio of Philips Category OLED met legal and normative requirements such as safety, hazardous substances, sustainability and electromagnetic compatibility. In alignment with the management team I defined and implemented compliance related business processes to this end. For new product developments I provided advice to the R&D teams and managed product certifications (e.g. UL, ENEC, CQC). As standardization officer I prepared the standardization strategy for all Philips OLED products and executed that strategy by participating in various standard developing organizations such as the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the International Commission on Illumination (CIE).

For my graduate thesis I investigated the color change with viewing angle of organic LEDs (OLEDs). The work included:- setting up of photometric and colorimetric measuring instruments, including measurement systems analysis,- planning, executing and analyzing experiments/tests,- performing optical simulations of OLED panels,- quantifying the visual perception of color change,- proposing methods for reducing viewing-angle dependent color shift without reducing luminous efficacy.
