I'm a Marine turned tech journalist turned climate, energy and transportation data scientist (a.k.a. data nerd). My goal is to help minimize the worst parts of climate change through analysis of data, policy, and state of technology. I have experience in renewable energy economics and policy analysis, load modeling, energy analytics, and software development. My professional interests include electric vehicle charging infrastructure, energy storage, renewable energy, energy data science, and energy and transportation policy. For a single project, I researched over 100 different EVSE policies and incentive programs in California. In another, I sorted through thousands of electricity tariffs to identify opportunities for EVSE deployment.I have solid Python programming skills, and experience using Python data science stack packages, including but not limited to Pandas, Numpy, Numba, and Dask. In one role, I even started a Python Community of Practice that over 30 of my colleagues joined.A programming polyglot, I'm also experienced with C, C++, JavaScript, PHP, SQL (MySQL, MariaDB, Postgres), shell scripting (Bash, Zsh), and the list goes on. My shiny, new, and interesting language of the moment is Rust.I have over 12 years of experience as a Linux user, and am at home on the command line or in an SSH session.
