Primary duties:- preparing team strategy for next year, including: - SCOM to ManageEngine migration - orchestrator swap from SALT to ANSIBLE - Ubuntu LTS support - workflow creation for out-of-support OS (RHEL 6, SLES11) - Prometheus + Grafana monitoring - docker roll out (security and setup standards) - Portainer as administration tool for app teams - SVN to GIT (GITEA) migration- Security standards for OS deployment- creating and standardizing our Knowledge base (wiki with 120+ pages)- regular security meetings and approaching major CVE's- working on automation and also encouraging team to follow on it (patching, user management, server builds, ...)- licences management with vendors- HW inventory check (fw; drivers; vendor support)- open source password DB with private keys- scans and inventory of servers- writing and reviewing playbooks and bash scriptsPerforming other "team lead" duties:- as freshly merged team primary focus was to establish a better connection between three different teams (divergent cultures, work places, skill sets, work distributions, workflows with colleagues from 3xUS,3xDE,9xSK,1xBG; - doing regular 1:1 with 13 team members to get overview on the work related tasks, project status and if assistance is needed, guidance with approach, feedback and lastly to establish better social bonds due to COVID-19 circumstances- creating a "project & tasks" tracker (what, by whom, when, etc. is being worked on)- finding strengths and picking the appropriate projects for team members and make everyone feel more accomplished with their work- creating possibilities for colleagues to shadow work of our team and incorporate them in our projects (starting with ssh keys changes)- interviews for new team member- daily stand ups with my manager on priorities for our whole team- enforcing of new technology lookout by team members- explanational videos about sudo auditing (sudoers+git, sudoreplays logs, etc.)
