I have published on cultural practices which deal with death & the dead: practices of commemoration, curation & display; from Neolithic multi-stage funerary practices to the curation & exhibiting of human remains in museums. I am also interested in the life of scientific objects in archives. This has led me to write about the history of anthropology and the founding father of Romanian anthropology, Francisc I. Rainer. A different strand of research took me to Ada Kaleh island, delving into its biography & disappearance (part of the 'State, Communities and Nature of the Lower Danube Islands: An Environmental History (1830-2020)' project financed by UEFISCDI through PN-III-P4-ID-PCE-2020).I have been a member of several international projects and collaborations, based at the Centre for Advanced Study at the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters (Oslo), at the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research (University of Cambridge), Faculty of “Artes Liberales” (University of Warsaw).I have published: 1 book, 1 peer-reviewed co-edited volume, 18 peer-reviewed texts (in prestigious international journals such as Science in Context, Documenta Prehistorica, Archaeological Dialogues, Current Swedish Archaeology), 22 other chapters, articles, field reports, and book reviews.28 participations at international and national conferences; 12 invited national and international presentations; Organised national and international conferences/workshops/panels.
