Badgerloop is an undergraduate student organization competing in the SpaceX Hyperloop Competition against 20 teams from around the world. As part of the analysis team, I use ANSYS to create finite element models of system components and analyze potential failure modes under various loading conditions.

Updated the thermal-mechanical solver of UW-Madison's Structural Dynamics Group's in-house finite element model (FEM) MATLAB code and validated results using Abaqus. I also explored the feasibility of using modal derivatives to augment a thermal reduced order model (ROM).

I worked as a research assistant in an oncology lab under the direction of Dr. Elaine T. Alarid, Ph.D. The lab's focus is to understand the mechanism governing the activity of estrogen receptor (ER) in breast cancer cells. As a research assistant, I learned to communicate effectively with mentors by working closely with the lab technician and graduate students and meeting regularly with the principal investigator. I maintained cell lines, designed and conducted experiments using fundamental lab techniques, and learned how to properly analyze data. I attended weekly lab meetings and presented my research at the Undergraduate Research Symposium in Spring 2016.
