The product of a formal education in Art and Design for Sustainability and twenty years of professional experience in Architecture and design, I am a well-rounded professional who contributes to the entire system of an organization. Following my undergraduate arts education at Evergreen State Collage, where I first started practicing systems thinking, I parlayed my creativity into a residential design position and have since been a team member and/or project manager on architectural projects ranging from the Science Storm exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago to custom luxury residences in Nashville. Currently, I'm practicing interior architecture at a leading residential architecture firm in Mill Valley, CA as well as consulting with luxury interior designers from California to New YorkThroughout my career, I've continued to develop technical skills in programs like AutoCAD and the Adobe Creative Suite to support my creative work and enjoy strengthening those skills in others. Most recently, I collaborated with a principal designer to develop and implement new CAD and file templates and standards and continue to train employees as needs arise.What differentiates me from many other designers, however, is that I have a deep interest, and training in, design research and systems thinking. My strength lies in searching for the "bigger picture"- whether it's a food system like my work for the Community Farmers Market or a residential kitchen design and using insights gathered during research to implement meaningful solutions.
