In being selected as a Butler Summer Institute Scholar, I have had the opportunity to devise and spearhead a research project which coalesces my passions of CSD and dietetics. The research aims to utilize aphasia friendly reading comprehension materials to enhance nutritional knowledge in people with aphasia. Over the course of this project, I administered standardized tests to provide differential diagnoses; adapted materials to a Flesch Kincaid grade level 7 in traditional and aphasia friendly formatting while adhering to guidelines of the Suitability Assessment of Materials; Prepared cloze statements and interview questions to quantitatively and qualitatively assess the influence of the formatting; and demonstrated professionalism in my interactions with the participants. I collaborated with experts in the Pharmacy, Dietetic, and CSD fields to enhance the quality of the project.

Serving as a Teacher's Assistant for a first-year phonetics course, reliable resource for questions regarding lecture material and CSD inquiries, host review sessions prior to examinations, attend weekly class and teaching practicum meetings.
