Elaborated and implemented, in conjunction with the members, a strategic framework including the adoption of rules of governance, vision and mission, advocacy and fundraising strategy.Steered the design of the organisational brand identity and oversaw communications, website, and social media platforms. Significantly increased the profile of myalgic encephalomyelitis within WHO, public health organisations, and governments by organising several public and bilateral meetings with key stakeholders. Represented IAFME at relevant international and national fora (e.g. World Health Assembly 2018 and 2019). Developed and managed strategic alliances and partnerships to increase the profile of the disease in the global health arena, notably by gathering 10 organisations facing similar challenges.

Designed and implemented actions and strategies, in coordination with 4 regional offices, to influence policies to enable a more suitable and sustainable environment for neglected diseases R&D. Led advocacy activities at WHO level leading to adding Mycetoma on the list of 18 neglected tropical diseases defined by WHO, through the adoption of a WHA resolution, resulting in an official programme ran by WHO and more political and funding attention for the disease. Led the successful DNDi’s R&D Visceral Leishmaniasis project application of WHO demonstration project process. DNDi’s project ranked number one among more than 200 R&D projects putting in place innovative mechanisms for innovation and access. This provided to DNDi and the disease with more visibility vis-a-vis international donors and policy makers and a grant of 2.4 Million USD.

Set-up and run the secretariat of the European Parliament`s Working Group on Innovation, Access to Medicines and Poverty-Related Diseases by developing a global network of Members of the European Parliament, NGOs, academics, and R&D experts. Coordinated external and internal MSF Campaign advocacy and communication on EU issues particularly between Geneva and Brussels.

Undertook a major analysis of regulatory and intellectual property (IP) issues in the framework of the review of the Canadian Food and Drug Act and the Canadian Patent Act. Participated in implementation of the “Jean Chrétien Pledge to Africa” for access to medicines.
