I have experience working with stakeholders at all levels (from regional leaders to advocates and municipal staff) to understand their transportation challenges and help guide them towards realistic potential solutions. I enjoy developing tools and public presentations to clearly communicate hard-to-understand regional transportation planning processes - including the analysis of transportation impacts as well as the capital funding process. Previous experience includes work at the federal, state, and local levels on projects related to multi-modal transportation, affordable housing, traffic congestion management, and neighborhood planning. Passionate about designing and implementing solutions for urban sustainability through public education and outreach. Helped develop major parts of a policy overview report for review by the Secretary of the Interior. • For 18 specific neighborhoods in Galveston, TX, in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike, led public meetings to help residents identify and define their priorities and goals for future development in their neighborhoods; developed and refined neighborhood plans based on resident input.• For the Florida Department of Transportation, developed a score card for elderly citizens to assess the walkability of their community. Developed fact sheet on the economic impacts of unmet mobility needs among the elderly.
