I joined the Brain Respiration Embodiment Affect Translational Health, or B.R.E.A.T.H. Lab, to be able to have hands on experience that brought together my major and minor. Dr. McIntosh's work in Health Psychology focuses on using interoception and feedback mechanisms to help study psychoneuroimmunology systems in post-menopausal women living with HIV and/or hypertension. I assisted in participant intake by conducting surveys, setting up vital signs devices, and teaching the fMRI task. Additionally, I spent many hours organizing data using programs including Microsoft excel, SPSS, and acqknowledge to facilitate with data analysis to draw conclusions from our study. Finally, I conducted presentations on our data to small groups of people.
