Registered Canadian and US patent agent (Agent de brevets enregistré au Canada et aux États-Unis)I find creative and proactive solutions that maximize the value of my clients' innovations. I am regularly called upon to draft, file and prosecute patent applications before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the World Intellectual Property Organization. I frequently prepare opinions for my clients on patentability, freedom to manufacture, and the validity and infringement of patents.I also design and implement strategic and innovative solutions for monitoring the IP of the competition giving my clients a competitive edge. I particularly enjoy building and managing complex IP portfolios in cutting edge technologies.I was a co-editor of "IEEE Canadian Review" and I have contributed to many articles that have appeared in various journals such as “Les Cahiers de Propriété Intellectuelle”, the "IEEE Canadian Review", etc. I regularly speak at conferences on intellectual property matters and I was a tutor at the McGill University Summer Courses in Intellectual Property organized by the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC).I have been cited in "The Gazette", "Les Affaires", "Lexpert" and "Canadian Lawyer Magazine".Since 2022 I have been identified and listed in the IAM 300 World's Leading IP Strategists.Since 2012 I have been recognized and recommended every year in Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) magazine's 'Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners'. I was identified as “an high-technology expert (...) who wins plaudits for his strong client relation skills and keen understanding of the patent landscape” (2012 edition).I have also a commercial pilot licence with multi-engine and instrument rating.
