My love for the outdoors and appreciation for its beauty has led me to choose a career in landscaping. Landscaping has been close to my heart since the day I was able to follow my father around our yard while he mowed and worked hard to make our yard look beautiful. I began my landscaping career with my own small business, mowing lawns in my hometown of South Portland. Thanks to a friend who got me in contact with a few clients, I was able to sign them on and create mowing contracts with them, making my business official. The summer after freshman year of college in 2022 I decided to work for Defining Line Landscaping in Scarborough, Maine. I took this opportunity to learn as much about landscaping and hardscaping as possible to expand my expertise. I gained valuable knowledge of hardscaping and business operations from my experience. I spent the summer making large patios out of pavers and learning how to do every step of the hardscaping process. This experience gave me the knowledge to complete hardscaping projects on my own. The Summer of 2023 and 2024 I was selected for an internship with Great Falls Construction, trying to learn and gain as much knowledge as I could to apply to my own business. During my internship, I worked with JCS Property Management which was in charge of taking care of buildings owned by Great Falls Construction. I learned a lot about property management and what goes into maintaining a building full of tenants. I also gained experience in customer service because of work-related tasks in tenants' apartments and public buildings. These experiences and the ones I continue to make each and every day have helped me improve myself and my business. My passion for learning new skills will continue to push me to improve my knowledge.
