Main roles and responsibilities included the independent translation (German to US English) of various texts including testimonials, balance sheets, income statements, marketing materials and general correspondence. Also involved in the translation of annual and consolidated financial statements of numerous companies of various sizes, sectors and legal structures, which are accounted for in accordance with German or international accounting principles (IFRS), mainly through the use of the translation software SDL Trados 2017 (including MultiTerm and Alignment Tool), Lotus Notes, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Responsible for quality control and input of corrections during the translation of reports and proofreading of English texts written by non-native speakers.

4 month internship as an English language assistant at Rondalingua Centro de Idiomas as part of my professional training year. Main roles and responsibilities included independent teaching of classes of varying age groups from pre-primary (4 years) to adult learners as well as supporting and observing teachers in classes of all levels. Also required to create and prepare exam resources centred around Trinity College London English exams, generally focused on levels ISE I, II, and III (levels B1, B2 and C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for languages) and carry out general administrative roles including the organisation and preparation of classroom resources in order to support teaching provision. Additionally carried out the translation of company documents.

My principal role was to oversee the development and running of the society. Constant correspondence with my committee, club members and riding school was required in order to arrange lessons and ensure that other committee members were fully carrying out their roles. This resulted in a significant shift to a more equally represented society across the various factions and aided in improving the club’s development, which had been lacking in previous years. Throughout my tenure the club attracted more members than in prior years, offered more inclusive events and raised in excess of £700 for the RDA (Riding for the Disabled Association). This led to recognition from the Students Union in the form of a gold STARs award.
