Founder of Synkronized Juror at the International Academy of Television Arts & SciencesAlex Cohen, a member of the International Academy of Television Arts and Science, formed Synkronized in 2000 as a one-stop wholesale DVD distributor, fulfilling stores and mass merchants. Propelled by its success, the company evolved into a full Production and Distribution house in 2002, acquiring exclusive rights for feature films and documentaries worldwide, and releasing them in partnership with major studios such as Paramount, Sony, and Lionsgate among others. In 2004, Cohen expanded Synkronized and moved its main offices to the East Coast of the United States. From 2004 to 2010, Synkronized entered an exclusive distribution partnership with E1 Entertainment. From 2010 to 2014, Synkronized moved its exclusive partnership to Millenium Media Services, as Cohen built Synkronized's domestic catalog with more titles distributed and produced, then exploited for Theatrical, TV, VOD, Digital, DVD, and SVOD. With a catalog of over 350 movies, series, docs and counting, and distribution accounts with all of the US aggregators and platforms, Cohen has proven that quality independent productions can find its audience when strong distribution tools are coupled with aggressive PR plans. Thanks to a unique formula and business strategy, the company has never stopped expanding and acquiring market shares. In 2016 Synkronized partnered with The Dream Factory Group, a China public company. Cohen and DFG have funded, produced, and distributed worldwide over 25 movies. Among those projects are the 2019 Sundance Official Competition Selection "Luce" starring Naomi Watts and Octavia Spencer and the 2019 multi-award winner Family film "Saving Flora", starring Jenna Ortega, "Rock Dog 2", and the "Norm of the North trilogy.In 2020, in addition to ongoing distribution with new releases added globally or domestically every month, growing with the emergence of new platforms in the AVOD and FAST marketplace, Cohen slated ambitious production projects, as the company is partnering with American Entertainment Investors to fund and exploit a slot of Films and Series, starting with the pandemic Horror movie "Stay Safe". Cohen also produced a 4 episode docu-series about the life of ODB, the founder of the Wu-Tang. In 2022, Cohen partnered with Singapore animation companies and slated 11 full seasons of animated series, going from preschool to teen. Cohen is actively packaging his next series and films, along with expanding the Synkronized label beyond the USA with global partners.
