Descending from eastern Europe and born to a family of electrical and software engineers I took interest in all sorts of technologies from an incredibly early age. Having then grown up in Singapore and taking in a scoop of adversity, I made a move to Australia and have established myself here as a contracting software developer and a business manager. I have attained two degrees from Queensland University of Technology in Information Technology and Business Management in 2004. Throughout my life I have been contracting in self-employment on a multitude of software projects both enterprise and SMBs with teams of various sizes.I am INTP-A – intellectual, logical, precise, reserved, flexible, imaginative and assertive. Over the years I have applied this thirst for knowledge and creativity to information technology and management spheres taking on a new ‘Stack’ every 3-6 months and these range from leading technical teams, consulting on architecture PaaS/SaaS, managing Active Directories and RemoteApps for enterprise, and all the way to developing very niche opinionated framework code to industry standards e.g. Angular apps with CodeIgniter backend and python AWS Lambda ETLs. As such I can easily step in and problem solve even in an unfamiliar domain. I love working with a team of specialists to achieve set goals, but I do enjoy diving in hands-on and getting very technical too.I have a Full Stack portfolio with experience in technologies starting from the early days. Overall, I always emphasize reuse and flexibility and easy of delivery and adaptability. Ideally my code is going to be as close to business requirements in natural English language as the guidelines allow i.e. very rarely will there be an iterative for-loop with an increment, most of the time I would use a few-line aggregates with callbacks along the lines of “if any product in the basket is tactile then calculate shipping”. And when it comes to testing I prefer to use BDD with a good test case collection to ensure quality CI/CD.My exposure to DevOps started before automation tools became a standard. I like to use Docker containers for the team to run controlled dev environment with e.g. VSCode. I have used GitHub extensively with Webhooks to trigger server pull, run BDD/TDD tests, all as a live CI/CD pipeline. For production I’ve had many projects over the years to run microservices in the cloud which I always approached with IaC DevOps practice. I would prefer to work with modern automation tools such as GitLab, Ansible, Terraform, AWS CodePipeline, Azure DevOps etc.
