If you no longer close a gap that exists, you're no longer a performance engineer. I am a Vehicle Dynamics performance engineer aiming at maximising vehicle performance in pioneer and creative ways, and with a preference to be referred to as Alex to help international colleagues with pronunciation.Driven by a strong passion for automobiles and racing, I managed to complete MSc in Motorsport Engineering in Oxford Brookes University awarded with distinction. After completing the education chapter, I joined IDIADA’s Vehicle Dynamics CAE team, where I have successfully helped clients to achieve their ambitious targets with strong passion for simulation and innovative technologies.During this 5-year journey, I have contributed to expand IDIADA’s digital solutions portfolio being responsible of generation and validation of state-of-the-art driving simulator vehicle models. Putting the purely technical part aside, my interpersonal skills and extreme curiosity led me to Brazil, where I played a pivotal role in the expansion of IDIADA’s Vehicle Dynamics CAE team in LATAM region, training new Vehicle Dynamics personnel while being the main liaising point with region’s clients in the ramp-up months.Currently, I find myself leading jointly with OEM engineers the vehicle dynamics performance development of a new EV vehicle platform, responsible of key performance areas throughout the complete development process, from concept to SOP. This is, so far, the biggest challenge of my career, yet I am already wondering what one will next be.
