After graduating from the University of Georgia with degrees in Political Science and International Affairs in May 2022, I began working as a Fiscal Policy Analyst at the Governor's Office of Planning and Budget (OPB). In this capacity I served the Governor and the State of Georgia by developing budget recommendations for upcoming and amended fiscal years, analyzing agencies' budgets and requests, and conducting research on key budget and policy priorities for my assigned agencies, including the Board of Regents, Georgia Public Telecommunications Commission, Georgia Military College, the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust, the Professional Standards Commission, and the Technical College System of Georgia. Upon leaving OPB I joined the Governor's Office as a policy advisor with a portfolio that includes K-12 education, higher education, and public safety.During my time at the University of Georgia, I completed several internships and extracurricular experiences. In my last semester I worked as a Policy Intern at the Office of Governor Brian P. Kemp. In this capacity, I assisted the Governor's policy advisors by producing hearing summaries, floor reports, and other deliverables throughout the 2022 Georgia General Assembly session in a variety of policy areas. During Summer 2021, I worked as a Legislative Intern for Thorn Run Partners, a government affairs firm in Washington, DC that has quickly risen to be a top 20 firm in its field since its founding in 2010. In this role, I utilized my research and analysis skills to produce products such as congressional hearing summaries, slide decks, and memos for the firm's partners and clients in a variety of fields including health care, financial services, and education.In the Fall of 2020, I interned on Rep. Houston Gaines’s successful campaign for State House where I worked on voter contact and grassroots outreach. The summer before, I worked on Dr. John Cowan’s campaign for Congress in Georgia’s 14th district. In this role I worked in grassroots voter outreach, attended events with Dr. Cowan, and various other district oriented tasks. Previously, I also interned in Congressman Tom Graves’ office in Rome, Georgia. This job helped me strengthen my skills in Microsoft Office applications, data management, and communication while serving the constituents of my home congressional district.
