Hello! My name is Alexis Snyder, I am from Brunswick, Georgia, and I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Spanish Language and Culture at Georgia College & State University in May of 2024.The skills I have acquired over my years of working in the service industry as a server and barista, as a nanny to a few families, and as a mental health worker in the healthcare field include interpersonal skills, productive communication, time management skills, creative problem solving, and efficient organizational tactics. At my university, I held multiple leadership roles. I was a Spanish tutor for fellow Spanish-studying students. In my senior year, I served as the Coordinator of Team Standards on the Council of Student Ambassadors. This role allowed me to advance my people skills, exercise empathy, and serve my community in many ways, which I loved to be a part of throughout my college years. In addition to my role on the council, I was involved in club BRAVEheart. This club was based out of the women’s center and served the purpose of bringing awareness about power based interpersonal violence to students on campus. We accomplished this by orchestrating multiple events per semester, as well as biweekly meetings. I served as secretary during my junior year, and had the honor of being elected president for my senior year. I worked with my fellow members and our faculty supervisors to research information, translate the information into engaging content, and educate our classmates and professors. These organizations provided me with endless skills and new perspectives that I hope to translate into my professional career.
