My passion for politics and civic service developed during my senior year of high school after I led a student walkout. I became committed to leading discussions on diversity among students and staff. In addition, my commitment to these topics allowed me an opportunity to serve on the engagement and inclusion task force within the White Bear Lake City Council where I successfully researched, compiled data and conducted surveys within the community, created a video with the city’s mayor and reported on the data collected with the aim of making the city a more inclusive and welcoming place. In addition to these experiences, I have worked within the Roseville School Districts Equity Department and was a team member of the Suburban Ramsey Family Collaborative initiative CAB. My key goals were to mentor, motivate and build positive relationships with young people, as well as the community. My roles helped pave the way for systemic change and equitable education all while repairing and rebuilding confidence in our communities. I have now expanded my horizons working as the MN DFL's African American Organizer on the 2022 campaign, which helped me gain my position as a Committee Legislative Assistant for the President of the MN Senate.
