My work on the SE Futures team was focused on creating a better future for older Canadians. I lead all efforts to design, build and grow a new business line for SE Health focused on building and operating more attainable housing for older adults. In addition, I lead Building with Mission, a CMHC National Housing StrategySolutions Lab focused on supporting mission-driven organizations develop new housing models for older adults. Finally, while in this role, I co-lead the Ontario Central LTC Stabilization Table sub-committee focused on addressing social isolation of LTC residents during the COVID pandemic by enhancing digital access.

As Sidewalk's Director of Health I led development of the company's health strategy with a focus on the intersection of health & place and on opportunities for enhanced digital and physical integration. I focused particularly on the physical and social environment as a driver of health, on digital health and healthy equity and on supporting older adults to thrive in their homes and communities. Intentionally planning for health and well-being from the outset, in homes and in neighbourhoods, can both drive value and enhance individual and collective well-being. As a senior team member in the Toronto office, I held numerous community relationships for the Quayside project and led the project's approach to inclusive development partnerships.

As MaRS, I held a cross appointment in both the Health Systems Innovation team and in the Centre for Impact Investing. I supported health sector partners to develop and execute new business models and funding structures with an emphasis on enhanced value creation and an outcomes-orientation. I worked closely with partners across sectors including provincial and federal government partners, hospitals and hospital foundations, non-profits working in health and health sector ventures and corporates.Key responsibilities:• Project lead in MaRS’ Capital Advisory practice responsible for securing and leading consulting engagements to develop social finance strategies & outcomes-based funding approaches • Health practice lead; manage existing and establish new relationships with national and international health sector partners (e.g. Public Health Agency of Canada, CIHR, Hospital Foundations)• Frequent public speaker, facilitator and author on the topics of health innovation and funding. Recent speaking engagements include events hosted by the Conference Board of Canada, TECHNA, Red Cross, Ontario Telemedicine Network, Digital Health Canada, CAMH Innovation Expo. • Represent the interests of the MaRS’ Health Systems Innovation team as a member of the MaRS Leadership Forum.

At Monitor, the financial regulators for the English National Health Service, I supported policy and strategy development on alternative funding models to delivery more effective and efficient care for populations that rely on well integrated care within the health system and across the health and social systems. This strategic role required a strong understanding of health care policy and payment systems around the world and their strengths and weaknesses, an appreciation for the complexity of delivering integrated care and strong stakeholder management skills. This role required:- strong research and strategic thinking skills- a strong understanding of the health sector in the UK the ability to drive national policy change- strong inter-personal relationships within and across organizations - the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely - the ability to manage a team working to tight timelines

As an independent consultant I was primarily been engaged in Strategic Planning and Project Management engagements, largely in the health care sector. I have a strong interest in the intersection of the public, private and third sectors and my work to date reflects these interests. Co-founder of LifeSpeak, a Canadian provider of workplace wellness education and support designed to enhance employee well-being and engagement. Lifespeak is now a publicly traded company operating across North America.

Action Canada is a national leadership development program that aims to foster deeper understanding of Canada's pressing public policy challenges. The program consists of multiple intensive five-to-eight-day working conferences where Fellows meet with senior leaders from all sectors, including government, industry, the media and NGOs. They participate in leadership-skills development sessions and hone their writing, speaking and media skills with some of Canada’s top authors, journalists and broadcasters.
