About Alexis Acker
“Helping one person might not change the whole world, but it could change the world for one person.”Welcome! My name is Alexis “Lexi” Acker, and I am the Human Resources Coordinator for AEI Madison and Central Region Offices. I thrive on meeting diverse individuals with various backgrounds and facilitating their onboarding experiences. My responsibilities include new hire orientations, completing 30-day check-ins, conducting exit interviews, coordinating our internship programs, registering for career fairs, encouraging professional development, and more. Prior to AEI, I worked at a boutique staffing agency (Drake and Company) in the Madison area assisting with executive level placements. I’m so eager to collaborate with AEI’s brilliant team on new innovative projects!I graduated from Edgewood College in May 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Communications with a concentration in Organizational and Interpersonal relations. Additionally, I minored in both Psychology and Health and Society along with obtaining a Public Relations Certificate. While at Edgewood College, I maintained a grade point average of 3.824 which placed me on the Dean's List and High Honor Roll. My hard work and determination paid off when I was awarded Magna Cum Laude at graduation. Furthermore, I became an active member of PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America) during my sophomore year of college and became President my senior year.In my free time, I enjoy finding the best tartar sauce in town, listening to music, and traveling with friends and family. Some of my favorite trips abroad include England, France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Germany, Ireland, and the Netherlands. During the summer of 2019, I accepted an internship abroad in Dublin, Ireland with the non-profit organization known as Camara Education. For eight weeks I created, generated, and managed the company's social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. I also contributed to their 2018 Annual Report which allowed me to showcase my creativity and editing skills. There were countless skills gained throughout this internship and I was especially grateful for living and experiencing a different culture compared to the United States.Still reading?
