As a teaching assistant for BIOL300/301, I play a role in equipping students with essential skills, using Python, for success in diverse fields such as biology, bioengineering, and medicine. With a focus on the need for quantitative approaches in biological studies, this 3-credit course delves into the foundational principles necessary for modern biologists.Throughout the semester, students engage with a spectrum of biological data types, ranging from molecular sequencing to ecological tabular data. My role involves guiding students through accessing, analyzing, and interpreting these datasets, fostering their ability to derive meaningful insights and draw informed conclusions. Additionally, I facilitate the development of crucial data analysis techniques, within Python, and the creation of impactful visualizations to communicate findings effectively.

Utilized my experience on the Mines campus to ease the transition into college for the newestclasses of over 1500 students.Facilitate complex discussions about identity to incite an inclusive environment.Coordinate team-building activities and events to immerse students into the campus community.Collaborate with faculty and peers to establish a positive first-year experience and foster an inclusivecampus culture

Work with one Professor with 40-80 students each semester in the Calculus II course.Utilizes my understanding of integration, differential equations, sequences and series, andparametric equations and polar coordinates to assist students.Work with the professor to grade weekly assignments ranging in 5-10 questions worth 50 points perassignment.

An Oredigger Camp counselor helps organize and run a camp in the mountains of Colorado fornew Mines students just before they come to college. This camp helps transition students from where they were before to proud Orediggers!

Launch is the Colorado School of Mines first step in the orientation process for incoming students new to the Mines community. It is used the ease the transition into becoming an oredigger and shows students all the support the university offers. As a launch leader I facilitate various programs as well as run a peer discussion to give incoming students advice about school.

Collaborated with the Principal Investigator (PI) on a research project aimed at improving the functionality of functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) systems for individuals with thick and curly hair.Developed a 3D printed cap-like system designed to securely and comfortably hold optical sensors on the scalp, addressing challenges posed by hairstyles that interfere with optimal sensor placement.Created CAD drawings for the 3D printing of prototypes.Assisted in the implementation and evaluation of prototype performance on human subjects, supporting the PI and research staff during experimental sessions.Contributed to a research study focused on collecting data related to hair and skin tone using fNIRS technology.
