Alexis represents families of adult children with developmental disabilities in limited conservatorship proceedings throughout the Bay Area (and beyond). She gives seminars for many nonprofits and schools educating the community about conservatorships and providing information about navigating the process with or without an attorney. She is also extremely knowledgeable in the areas of special needs trusts and ABLE accounts.Alexis also handles general conservatorships involving adults who do not have developmental disabilities.

DIY Limited Conservatorship is an online program that teaches families in California how to set up a limited conservatorship for a loved one with a developmental disability. This is the first program of its kind to empower families who cannot afford the high fees charged by attorneys and want to learn how to do the process themselves. The program includes step-by-step instructions from start to finish, including how to fill out all the necessary forms. Matrix's mission is to empower families of children with special needs to successfully understand and access the systems that serve them. Serving families of children ages 0-26 with special needs for over 30 years in Marin, Napa, Solano and Sonoma counties.In 2016, Alexis (an avid runner) launched and coached the Matrix Milers, an annual fundraiser half marathon and 5K training team, in partnership with the Santa Rosa Marathon. The team's goal is to raise crucial funds for Matrix, while giving Matrix parents, supporters and children with special needs the opportunity to come together to form a support network, get healthy and accomplish something great for themselves.

The Honorable Mary E. Wiss: Drafted bench memoranda recommending rulings on motions before the court. Researched issues of wills and trusts, conservatorships, and other probate-related matters. Briefed judge and judge’s staff attorney or commissioner regarding findings on probate matters.

Interviewed clients during initial intake and maintained client relationships throughout the proceedings. Researched city and state laws and assisted supervising attorneys in matters regarding housing, insurance, wills and credit. Drafted correspondence with clients, other parties and opposing counsel.

Drafted grant applications and conducted correspondence with potential grant applicants. Reviewed and weighed grant proposals. Built relationships with non-profit organizations throughout the western region. Coordinated projects including fundraising events and employee and customer driven fundraising campaigns. Managed beneficiary involvement in aforementioned events. Negotiated high school and community agency involvement in Fashion Inform, a night of HIV/AIDS prevention education to 2500 high school students from over 25 schools. Wrote grant proposals soliciting funding for Fashion Inform.

Conducted academic consultations for families interested in becoming members to analyze student needs for an accurate curriculum placement. Negotiated with current members to adjust the curriculum to fit the individual student's needs. Hired and managed the high school and college-aged employees and oversaw their development as academic tutors. Built relationships with students and their families to encourage program participation and motivate student improvement. Daily activities required strong multi-tasking skills to accomplish behind-the-scenes business needs such as budget, staffing, payroll, billing, and customer service.

Developed a variety of lesson planning methods to engage and motivate students to improve prior low performance. Presented course material in a classroom environment on a daily basis. Assessed student and family needs in order to achieve family educational goals and advocate on their behalf with school administration. Elected by peers to serve on the School Site Council for; year to advocate on behalf of the teachers concerning allocation of school budget dollars.
