Alex is currently working as a Police Controller, working out of the Police Control Room at Southern Support & Training HQ in Netley. This is following a year as Detention Officer with Hampshire Constabulary working predominantly out of Southampton Custody but also covering Portsmouth, Basingstoke & Newport Custody Suites.Previously to joining Hampshire Constabulary, Alex was a highly experienced Security Operative holding front-line SIA Door Supervisor & CCTV licenses, working primarily in Healthcare Security based at a highly-esteemed Major Trauma NHS Foundation Trust in the South of England. Alongside his SIA licenses, Alex also holds numerous qualifications in Security Searching & Screening, First Aid & Fire Safety. Alex's main specialism is in Control Room Operation, frequently running the CCTV Control Room at University Hospital Southampton NHS FT alongside large-scale events, however also has a wealth of experience in First Response, Static and Mobile Guarding as well as Corporate, Hospitality & Crowd Control. Alex's Crowd Control portfolio includes major national events such as New Year's Eve in London (with a usual capacity of upwards of 80,000 persons), Music Festivals (up to and including events with 95,000 ticket holders) & Sporting Events (with capacity crowds of 20,000 spectators)Alex also has been employed at HM Prison & Probation Service, completing a Level 3 Diploma in Management & Care of Individuals in Custodial Care gaining full Control & Restraint training and 3-year Respiratory Protective Equipment training. Other units covered in the 10wk course included Conflict Management (including the new HMPS Five Minute Intervention model), Person & Vehicle Searching, First on Scene Management, Negotiation Skills, Emergency Protocol, Conflict Management and Self-Harm & Suicide Awareness (ACCT).Outside of his Police & Security involvement, Alex also holds a 2nd Class Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Television Production and has experience in the Media & Broadcast industries which he pursues part-time running a small production company. Alex also currently holds provisional entitlement for Category C HGV vehicles.
