This portfolio encompasses a total lending of $450 million and circa 900 customers. 2IC to National Manager of Farmline, overseeing the National Team in the absence of this role. • Leadership – Direct and indirect leadership of a team of 22 agri professionals. • Performance Focus – Oversee teams management of sales pipeline and activity. Maximising the quality of lending, priced fairly and differentiating our offerings with excellence in sales service. • Strategic Direction – Stay constantly abreast of market movements and the competitions offerings and potential points of difference. Align teams short- and long-term plan to ASB rural strategy and remain flexible and relevant in an ever-changing NZ financial market. • Continuous Improvement/Lean – Develop and driving a culture of continuous improvement across the business unit. Constantly challenging myself and team to question the ‘status quo’. Rural Manager
Managing and influencing a portfolio of 55 "high value" customers circa $250 million lending with strong dairy influence. - Customer Management: Managing / servicing existing portfolio, annual reviews, needs analysis, assessment of new proposals.- Sales: Successful retention and growth of portfolio, record of zero customer loss, portfolio growth currently in excess of $120 million – 20 quality new to ASB customers.- Staff Management: Management of direct reports (1-3), setting of KPI’s and personal development plans, ongoing measuring of performance against expectations, regular 1-1’s and end of year reviews. Supported Rural Account Manager through to development secondment opportunity, currently mentoring Futureme graduate through 18 month rural programme. Recruitment and selection of replacement support staff. - Projects: Significant contribution to numerous projects that have included; Optimist – 2014-15, subject matter expert for the development of credit/analysis tool for ASB rural banking. Involved Melbourne based work with software developers, testing of the system and eventual rollout and training of upper north island rural team. Dairybase – 2016, subject matter expert for the integration of dairy base benchmarking into Optimist.
Agribusiness Manager
Overall responsibility for the servicing management and growth of a portfolio of 50 clients. The portfolio is made up of 90% dairy lending across the central Waikato. The key responsibility in this role are to balance the customers lending requirements with the management of the Banks operational and credit risk to produce a positive outcome for both parties. - Work in collaboration with other branch Agribusiness Managers to ensure strong presence in the community and relationships with current and potential clients.- Assist in the management of two support staff including delegation of work and follow up, review quality of work and provide timely feedback, utilise individual strengths and develop capability. - Guide customers in creating capital and cash flow budgets. Assess viability and profitability of lending proposals to best assist customers in making strategic business decisions.- Annually judging in the NZ Dairy Industry Awards, reviewing the best Sharemilkers, Equity Managers and Contract Milkers in the country across a range of criteria including pasture and animal management, H&S, environmental sustainability and financial key performance indicators through the dairybase system.

This portfolio was predominantly made up of dairy lending with a proportion of drystock, beef finishing, broiler chickens and market gardening. The key responsibilities in this role were to balance the customers lending requirements with the management of the Banks operational and credit risk to produce a positive outcome for both parties. - Maintain positive working relationships within the local rural team consisting of 2 Rural Managers and 3 Rural Support staff to ensure effective and efficient work operations.- Management and development of 1 direct report and 1 indirect report, constructing and executing their development and performance plans, ensuring the effective use of their time and skills, guiding their work to a consistently accurate and high standard. - Deliver excellent customer service – ensuring a consistently high standard was maintained not only through my own interactions but also those made by my Rural Support staff.- Monitor and limit Bank operational and credit risk ensuring Bank policies and guidelines are always adhered to, ensure appropriate securities and documentation are in place and make appropriate recommendations to the Bank.- Ensuring clients are always given the best possible support and recommendations to achieve their financial goals.- Maintain relationships with the farming community by working closely with key farming intermediaries / referral sources (accountants, solicitors, real estate agents and advisors) from whom business is often sourced and developed.- Gain support from credit to acquire new deals and further lending for existing clients by providing sound and well articulated business proposals.
