During my studies I worked as a student ambassador for Keele University. I enjoy the variety that comes with the job, and I am quick to adapt to what is needed for each shift. As part of my role I was a UniBuddy, with prospective students being able to text me through the UniBuddy app with questions about the university and university life.As a result of my hard work and dedication to the role in Spring 2023 I was promoted to a senior student ambassador.

Saint Lucia

I spent a month in Saint Lucia with Caribbean elective taking part in their conservation and sustainability programme. During these four weeks I gained invaluable skills such as adapting to a completely new environment. My teamwork skills were tested, and I got to learn about a field I am greatly interested in, sustainability, in a context far different to what I experience in my daily life.

During my university summer break I worked as waitress and on the bar of a local restaurant. I thrived in this environment, and quickly showed my competency, which was reflected in being entrusted as a key holder and opening/closing on my own. Whilst I enjoyed the responsibility and independence I also gained good relationships with other staff members, and was able to successfully manage the staff working behind the bar when needed. This job allowed me to develop skills in the making of drinks and delivering of food, whilst greater developing my teamwork, cleaning and customer service ability.

Having a strong interest in Mathematics and a want for an insight into teaching and the current curriculum I jumped at the opportunity to volunteer for CoachBright. During this time I realised the importance of through planning and appreciations of a students need in order to carry out a successful session. Through having excellent communication skills with the pupil I was tutoring I was able to plan sessions for their needs, greatening their likeliness of success. I enjoyed finding innovative ways of explaining concepts in order for understanding to be reached.
