PhD- Clinical Research Principal Investigator•As a dedicated researcher, I conducted more than 30 interviews with mothers enrolled in WIC across three Unity offices located in Ward 5, 7, and 8 of Washington D.C. The objective was to assess the repercussions of Maternity Ward closures in these underserved areas, which lack labor and delivery units, disproportionately affecting marginalized patients from low socioeconomic backgrounds. This comprehensive research culminated in the presentation of our findings titled "Deserted in the District? Exploring the Impact of COVID-19 and Maternity Care in Washington D.C." at the annual Ortho Women’s Group Research Symposium in Washington, D.C. -
