They say Insurance is a family business and I would have to agree. I got my first taste of underwriting when I was 5 years old flipping through polaroid albums of high value homes looking for cracks in a basketball court or missing tiles for the indoor pool! With my mother being a life long underwriter and my father holding several positions ultimately to become an Independent Agent, I guess it was fate. Almost 20 years later in the business, I have received many accolades and have experience in underwriting, agency education, new agent onboarding and success for captives, business consulting, agency operations, and territory planning for PA, CT, ME, RI, NH, and VT. All of which led me to the career I have today with Hanover. I currently have the title of Territory Sales Manager which externally encompasses onboarding new agents, supporting my territory of Eastern Pennsylvania through training and consultations as well as working with aggregator and agency group liaisons. The Hanover has tools which enable me to do a deep dive on an entire book of business and consult on areas of exposure, opportunity, and simple process changes that ultimately lead to agency growth within their current book, through new business, and profit sharing. Internally, I have the opportunity to lead our company "TSM" Council which focuses on what we can do as an organization to support our field reps and our agency partners. I actively am involved in trainings within our sales organization which allows me to work with several leaders in various departments on a regular basis. I am a firm believer of foundational training and execution. Additionally, because Pennsylvania is a "newer" state to Hanover, I have been able to work closely with our state manager and ARVP on what it looks like to build a profitable book of business, understanding risks and where we are willing to take them, and what our top and bottom line should look like as we continue to grow our footprint. Lastly, I have been fortunate to have an amazing mentor in finance who has worked with me on high level organizational views and looking at our strategy as a whole to make our company as successful as possible. Connecting dots across every department is key and I'd like to say we share the same philosophy that knowledge is power. Be efficient, be transparent, and communicate until the cows come home!
