In my current role as the Operations Manager, I am responsible for:Managing cargo handling procedures on shipping vessels as per standard port regulations of Karachi Port Trust (KPT) and Port Qasim Authority (PQA); Containerising shipments processing and oversee dry, bulk, break bulk and bagged cargo vessels and containers; Ensuring receipts of loading/discharging rate according to contracted terms; Assessing duration of entire operation as per received vessels' stow/bay plans constraints to modify / authorise loading/unloading plans; Co-ordinating with port authority and surveyors to compile and deliver essential paperwork related to vessels; Performing freight delivery activities to consignees in line with company's commercial and operational processes; Keeping customers informed of all cargo receiving/delivery developments with a focus on mitigating issues for maximum customer satisfaction.Below are my notable accomplishments:• Develop and implement loading/unloading plans including cargo guidelines, catalogues, schedules, and equipment transfer, to effectively execute shipment operations.• Exhibited ability to seamlessly administer all dry bulk and general cargo including bagged grains, fertilizers, and containers during overall stevedoring and terminal operations.• Minimised/prevented any damage to cargo by streamlining entire facets of stevedoring and terminal operations from inception to completion, while complying with port policies, HSE standards, and inspection requirements.• Served as the company's representative in Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) and attended several import and stevedoring tenders for sugar, urea, and wheat.• Successfully controlled various operations relating to soybean seed and canola seed vessels at the Karachi Port.• Effectively manoeuvred palm kernel expeller (PKE) vessels and wheat import/export vessels at Port Qasim and Karachi Port, along with containerisation of wheat, corn, and rapeseed meals shipments.
