Ali is working on the Westside Purple Line Extension Section 2 & 3 projects in Los Angeles. He is leading the Structural BIM team and helping overall BIM coordination. He worked on Arizona State Innovation Council (STIC) X-D Modeling project; creating as-built 3D surface models and comparing them with the Point Clouds collected by photogrammetric techniques. Ali worked on San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) Market Street Entry Canopies project and leading the Structural BIM team.

Ali worked as BIM Manager for the SR202 Project. He produced and maintained a consolidated model of all 3D models by the project team and oversees the production of the 4D model with integration of the project construction schedule to the 3D elements.Ali worked as BIM Manager for East Link/ I90 Project, Seattle Washington. He coordinated the BIM efforts throughout the project. He produced the BIM implementation plan. He executed the Clash detection process throughout the lifecycle of the project, created reports and coordinated QC process. He authored 3D models for the structural team and MEP.•Ali worked as a Model Manager for 95th St Terminal Improvement Project in Chicago, produced 3D models of the utilities using GIS, Civil3D and models of stations using Revit, created integrated models with Navisworks.•Ali worked on the Westside Subway Extension project in Los Angeles. He coordinated the VDC/BIM efforts throughout the project. He was involved in 3D/4D modeling of the existing utilities, clash detection between disciplines for station design.•Alaskan Way Viaduct and Seawall Replacement Program (AWVSRP) Geospatial Data Management System (GDMS): GDMS, a web mapping application developed using ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE and Oracle, is designed to manage project specific geospatial data, including above and below ground infrastructure data and to provide all project users access to user friendly applications for mapping, analysis, scenario planning, and data sharing. Ali worked as the on-site GDMS coordinator for this project. Ali did the day-to-day maintenance of the project servers, data acquisition, conversion and import into the GDMS. •Ali worked on 3D/4D modeling of the proposed tunnel and tunnel systems.•Doyle Drive Replacement Project: produced 3D model the Ruckman UC Bridge•SR 520 Bridge Replacement Project: produced 4D model of the proposed floating bridge using Navisworks by integrating the 3D models with the schedule.

Ali was a research assistant at Purdue University and performed research in three projects between 2002 and 2008. The projects were funded by Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT). The research topics were “Modern Technologies for Design Data Collection”, “Corridor Mapping Using Aerial Lidar Technique” and “3-D As-build data for utilities”. In the first two projects integration of GIS, GPS, Remote Sensing and Lidar technologies for transportation uses are explored. In the last project the aim was to provide a means for 3D geolocation, archiving and presentation of utility data. Ali has a dissertation on accuracy assessment of airborne Lidar and automated extraction of features.

Ali had an internship at ESRI in Redlands, CA in the summer of 2006 and worked with the ArcIMS release team. Ali was responsible to test all ArcIMS functionality for all supported operating systems, web browsers and web servers.

Ali worked for 6 years as a GIS Specialist in the Urban Information Systems (UIS) group of the city of Ankara, TURKEY.
