I am currently Branch Manager on secondment, put into a disrupted Torquay Branch due to several employees leaving the business. I have been in the store for less than a month and have managed to turn the store around in a short space of time and fundamentally boosted staff morale. My task ahead in Torquay wont be an easy one however I have all the confidence in my own ability to bring the store back to a reputable level within the region. I currently have 3 employees that work in store but have increased the staff level by hiring 4 new candidates. I have a blank canvas to work with and my intention is to build an elite team of people that can can truly uphold the companies reputation in providing world class customer service and also delivering profit and what is truly right for the customer.

I directed and coached 6-8 full and part time colleagues. I was accountable for all sales, logistics, human resources, health & safety, loss prevention and customer experience within the store. My responsibility as an AM was to take more of a shop floor manager role to drive volume,attachment and customer service whilst overlooking the sales floor and assisting where necessary.In the 4 years I have worked for Carphone I have consistently proven a high level of delivering quantity as well as quality day in day out and have cemented my reputation as being the top sales person in the southwest region for the past 3 years. I have used this honorable reputation to help train many of my colleagues within the 3 Exeter branches that under achieve in delivering company expectations, this gives me great pride in knowing I can influence and help others so they better enhance their sales ability to do well.

At the age of 20 I was fortunate enough to start my entrepreneurial career in running my own business with the support of family in a partnership with my older brother. This was the main business of 2 local shops me and my brother owned at the time. The smaller of the 2 shops were built to a very reputable level and sold on. Our Gillingham store was bought as a retail clothes outlet and renovated to a convenience store the size of a local Co-op. Me and my brother owned the freehold of the property and the infrastructure was built from scratch. Day to day running of the business involved dealing with external suppliers and regular visits to cash and carry's as well as majority orders placed from the Nisa Group. We had 8 staff members who were given intensive training upon joining the business and all had key roles within the success of the company. After the first financial trading year my business was turning 12k a week this encouraged me that the shop had more potential to give and with persistent commitment and stubbornness at the end of year 2 we had an increase of 30% in revenue turning just under 16k a week, At this point the store was in a strong position so I contacted the national lottery agents and after several interviews I was approved to be a lottery certified store following the success of securing the lottery I also managed to get in touch with Pay-Point who approved there services in my store. In Year 3 I had built the reputation of my business to a level in which I could finally reap the benefits and be proud of what me and our team had done this enabled me to recruit more staff due to the on going growth of the business. Me and my brother eventually went on to sell the lease hold of the business having worked religiously for 4.5 years, the shop was turning just under 20k a week.
