I spent 24 years coaching age group and high school competitive swimming. I went back to school 5 years ago to earn my teaching certification. I am in my 5th year of teaching 8th and 11th grade English students at Giles High School. I love it. I love the students at Giles. They are like no other youth I have ever worked with. I am honored to be the Drama Coach and the English MACC coach at GHS as well and am consistently amazed at the talent living in Southwest Virginia !I earned my MS in Instructional Media through Wilkes University and have applied to Virginia Tech's Ph.D program in Instructional Technology. I hope to be accepted and continue my career in education researching the current ways humans learn and trying to improve on them through the use of technology. Ultimately, I would like to use that knowledge to teach students of education.
