Update: I'm nearing retirement so I no longer do some of these things. The description below was from about 10 years ago. My replacement was hired about 2 years ago and I trained her. She is now training me as our company has transitioned to a totally new computer system and she was trained as a trainer. It seems we have come full circle! I still perform basic customer service functions but am more in a backup role now. I look forward to retiring but there are a lot of people I sure will miss.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Specialties: I am the customer service rep at our corporate office. We have 19 branch locations who also refer customer service issues to me. I formerly handled the billing for all of our store locations, and now oversee that task by another employee. I handle order entry for orders received from customers and our sales reps in the field via phone, fax, and email; I create and forward shipping documents for some shipments to a bonded warehouse that ships for our company. I check online inventory status of the bonded warehouse, compare to inventory in our system, and report any discrepancies. I handle any special billing tasks (i.e. customers who require we invoice them via a website) or customers whose orders require special handling/processing outside our normal billing system. I answer customer inquiries by phone, fax or email concerning anything from address changes to shipment or invoice discrepancies, and accounts receivable questions. I fill in when needed in the purchasing department and at the reception desk. I work with customers, sales reps, employees at our other locations, and vendors on a daily basis.
