I started as an organizing fellow at FWD.us in Chicago and was brought on full-time as a regional organizer. I quickly advanced from a Chicago Chapter Manager to Midwest Director. I built the FWD Chicago Chapter from the ground-up, which entailed coordinating monthly events, recruiting volunteers, and engaging influencers from the business, tech, and startup communities in direct advocacy for immigration reform. I worked closely with local stakeholders, elected officials, and coalition partners to inform and advocate for bipartisan policy solutions to the immigration system. In addition to my role in Chicago, I served as the Florida Council Coordinator, which included hiring a Director of Organizing and participating in high-level meetings with local business and industry leaders to establish the Miami chapter.

I interned at the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights while finishing my final semester of graduate school. I conducted research and analysis of state and local policies, participated in stakeholder meetings, and authored policy briefs.

For a Pew Trusts project, I collected immigration-related legislation for specific states using LexisNexis. I coded the legislation to prepare the data for analysis as part of a broad database of immigration-related legislation.
