Choices: College and Career Readiness is a year-long course designed for Eleventh graders to help guide them towards obtaining the necessary life, educational, and professional skills and resources for effective future planning. This course also prepares students to complete an internship by the close of their senior year. Through research, job simulations, work-based learning activities, presentations, projects, and diverse learning tasks, students analyze their strengths, passions, skills, and academic interests, reflecting on and articulating how the two worlds of "professional" and "personal" can work together. My goal in creating the curriculum for this course was to give the students an opportunity to not only learn the lessons in a creative way, but to also be a part of creating them. Projects were designed with critical thinking, real-world applications in mind, and offered a growth-mindset post mortem to give the students the chance to leave their mark on each lesson for the future. Many, if not all, project have always been made better by allowing students to give authentic, valuable feedback on how they think they could do it better!

In my time at Adaptive Path at Capital One, I was part of a project team that assisted in establishing a new card process in the UK, contributed to a reinvention of the Home Loans process in Plano, TX, and partnered with countless peers locally pertaining to Experience Mapping and idea generation. As a Design Manager, I lead the development of new processes and tools to use in all Capital One lines of business across the country, which included tackling current reporting issues with a goal of solving the “across the void” difficulties. In addition to these, I also stepped into a support role for the Events Team to learn a new CMS and launch an app that is used at a major annual conference. My general responsibilities included project oversight through an engagement including partner relationship, budget, and risk management and mitigation while balancing overall project health.
