Dr. Alireza Bazargan is the Founder of the Resource Efficiency Lab and the Head of the Waste Management Group at the Faculty of Environment, University of Tehran. He has received numerous awards and honors, including, DAAD/IAESTE scholarship (Germany), TOTAL scholarship (France), PGRS and SENG scholarships (Hong Kong), scholarship for University of Tokyo’s Asian Program for Incubation of Environmental Leaders, International Young Waste Researcher Award (ICSWHK), induction into the National Elites Foundation (Iran), supervision of two winners of Distinguished Research Awards, and Top 2% highly cited researcher (Stanford University/Elsevier in 2022 and 2023). He is the author of many scientific works, including the #1 best-selling book: “A Multidisciplinary Introduction to Desalination".In addition to academia, Dr. Bazargan is broadly engaged in industrial projects. As the co-founder and CEO of Pyramoon Water and Energy Engineering Co, he has led more than a dozen successful projects, most notably, as contractor of the Bushehr-IV Seawater Desalination Plant with a design capacity of 30,000 m3/day; design, construction and/or revamping of Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) units with a cumulative capacity of over 600,000 m3/day; design and installation of approximately 1 km of infiltration galleries for feedwater intake; and 5.5 km of pipelines for water conveyance.Furthermore, Dr. Bazargan has been an advisor and contractor for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) since October 2020.Visit: [[ www.environ.ir ]] for more information.
