Over the years I have done several different trades from fast food to now managing a spa. I never had an expectation of being a manager before ever receiving a college degree.Until July 1, 2019, I had never worked in the spa industry, or even been in a spa. I started out on the front desk as a Spa Associate for nearly two years before I was offered the Spa Manager position. On May 28, 2021, I started as the Spa Manager of Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa.Accepting this position is what has driven me to pursue a degree in management. I started out at UNCW double majoring in mathematics and biology, switched to only mathematics, then I decided to go a business route. I started out with Business Administration with a concentration in accounting, but I have recently changed it to management. Changing my major to management has helped me understand more about management.This position has given me a lot of insight to the business world. It has opened my eyes to all of the possibilities that were beyond my expectations when starting with the company. It has taught me to grow as a person, a manager, and a leader. I have gained much experience while leading a team and learning skills I never thought I would have. With the skillsets I have learned throughout being with the company, as well as studying at UNCW, it has showed me how to improve my leadership, my management skills, and my daily routines to succeed and overcome any obstacles that may come my way, or my team's way. Each day is a learning experience, and each day I am growing in my leadership role.
