Alison is an author, lecturer and workshop leader for doulas, midwives, and the general public. She has been teaching people how to use herbal and homeopathic remedies since 1996. She has been a guest teacher at: Universidad de Aguascalientes, and midwifery schools and birth centers in Oaxaca, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Leon; as well as in Chile and Guatemala. Concurrently, she is active as a Childbirth Educator since 1982.Alison was an independent homebirth midwife and an instructor of obstetrics , counseling and ethics for Mexico's first professional midwifery school (C.A.S.A. Centro de Adolescentes de San Miguel de Allende). She also provided womens health care and herbal consultations since 1984.Together with her family runs a natural products dispensary and store.
