Founded, operated and successfully sold BLK Coffee, a speciality coffee shop situated in Newcastle upon Tyne. This proved integral to the success of the business, especially in terms of its launch.For four years, I was responsible for all HR and financial processes involved in the business, including managing and training a team of staff. As well as gaining a good reputation in the North East of England, BLK Coffee garnered overwhelmingly positive reviews on Facebook, Google My Business and TripAdvisor, and in 2016 I placed second in the UK Brewers Cup Championship, which raised the shop's profile on a national and international level. In 2016 I was also invited to speak on a panel at the Manchester Coffee Festival called "The Business of Brewing", which was all about the shared experiences of owner-operators in the North of England.
