CurrentThe inspiration behind my illustrations comes from my love of nature, birds, daily dog walks, my family's surfing heritage in Cornwall, vintage swimwear, foraging, beach-combing, the flowers in my garden and visiting botanic gardens. I apply my illustration skills to designing work that really comes from my heart. Each one of my illustrations has a story behind it that is personal to me, but also is commonplace memory or a shared emotion. The people who like my work are belly boarders, swimmers, gardeners, botanists, floral lovers as well as Cornish people from around the world. I sell online and wholesale to independent shops and galleries around the UK.In 2016 I co-founded the Etsy Makers Cornwall team, and we hosted four Etsy Made Local events. I also organised regular meet ups with local Etsy sellers and creative businesses. Etsy Makers Cornwall has now become Makers Cornwall and is still a thriving networking group on Facebook. I'm no longer involved, but the Makers Cornwall hold a very successful Christmas Fair each year.In 2017 my main product became illustrated lampshades - which I make by hand using fabric that has been printed with my designs. In 2021 I was featured in an episode of BBC TV's Escape to the Country showing how I make my lampshades. As a result of that show I have since run workshops.
