Working as an independent assessor and an Associate Assessor for the British Dyslexia Association, I cover all ages from 6 years to adults. Services offered include, Diagnostic assessments and screenings, testing for Exam Access Arrangements and Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA).As a Workplace Needs Assessor, I assess and work with employer and employee to recommend reasonable adjustments.

The role involves overseeing the effective delivery and quality assurance of projects and services within the Southern Region, including Wales. This also includes creating local business development capacity in the Centres and the operations area, reviewing processes and improving efficiency by implementing change when required to provide long term sustainability to maximise reach. As part of the Senior Management Team, responsibilities include financial planning and budgeting and developing strategic plans. The Head of Region oversees over 100 staff across 10 centres and associated outposts as well as working across departments within the organisation to deliver maximum impact for learners.

As part of a national team, and in the last 18 months as manager of that team, the role involved developing links and working partnerships with schools, businesses, other voluntary groups and services, with the intention of establishing contracts to allow Dyslexia Action to reach a broader market.

Performed a variety of roles including:• Delivering literacy and numeracy teaching to dyslexic learners • Carrying out Diagnostic Assessments for children and adults• Delivering awareness training to parents and employers• Supporting adults in the workplace

Responsible for major IT sales into the defence sector; this involved:• Meeting sales targets and managing customer and internal relationships to deliver complex business solutions• Co-ordinating the writing of detailed proposals for long-term strategies, presenting to senior boards of executives and co-ordinating sales to completion
