Front Of House Team Member
Hospitality Assistant
Graduate Trainee
Following completion of my Undergraduate degree, I worked as a graduate within Economic Development. As part of this role, I was responsible for leading a project on the council's partnership working. I worked with various cross- organisational bodies (e.g., Local Government, third sector, and public services) and collaborated with others to deliver shared objectives. I had the opportunity to meet with several people in the council and have become informed on council working and have a better understanding of the economy. I have also been able to access training that has allowed me to develop professionally. I carried out reviews of existing partnerships and helped put people in contact to create new partnerships. Through carrying out independent research, I also created a partnership working toolkit.
Student Internship
During my third year of study, I carried out an internship with Action for Children, where I helped carry out research with the policy, advocacy and campaigning department. I completed two literature reviews. The first review considered sport participation levels. It advocated that the Scottish Government should make sport more inclusive for children and young people facing barriers. The second review looked at the experiences young people with learning disabilities face when transitioning into adulthood. It aimed to understand better how the organisation could better support those transitioning.

Childcare Assistant
In 2014 I started volunteer work with Òganan Dhùn Èideann whilst still in school. Following a couple of years of this I was offered a part time position within the organisation as a childcare assistant. Òganan Dhùn Èideann is a wraparound childcare provision, provided through the medium of Gaelic. Whilst working there I developed my teamwork skills. This was important as it is an important aspect of childcare to ensure the safety of each child. It is also important for me to be enthusiastic so as to ensure that they enjoy their time, by coordinating activities for them. I was responsible for preparing and carrying out activities with the children.
