My duties and responsibilities included:- Sterilizing kennels, isolation, surgical and dental instruments and equipment- Animal nail trimming, gland expression, animal restraint, patient recovery- Preparing for doctor/technician: surgical packs, vaccinations, prescription send-out- Administering some vaccinations, animal dental grading, recording vitals, gathering patient history, Xray, blood drawing, subcutaneous fluids - Utilizing bloodwork, urinalysis, and cytology equipment- Caring for boarded and hospitalized patients (recording food, water, and medication intake)-Some experience with variety of exotic animals

I enlisted in the Alabama Army National Guard when I was 17 years old, completed over a year of drill in preparation for Army Basic Training. During training, I earned a sharpshooter medal in marksmanship, and unfortunately was injured and was unable to complete training. Although I was unable to complete my basic training, during out-processing, I became proficient in mailroom duties and office administration.
