I am an Aerospace Engineer learning to be an Acoustician in the Australian Antarctic Division. Prior to this I was modelling emissions due to soil carbon in Australia's cropland and grassland at the Department of Industry, Energy, Science and Resources, and before that an engineer and project support officer in the Capability, Acquisition and Sustainment Group in the Department of Defence. During my studies I conducted two engineering internships and have further experience in other varied roles including coaching, administration, and customer service. One of the most rewarding experiences I've had so far is living and working in Germany. I love team sports and being active.

Rowing CoachCaulfield Grammar School Oct 2015 - Feb 2017As a member of the coaching team I was responsible for the coordination of over 70 junior athletes and individually responsible for a crew of 5. I used my strong communication and leadership skills to convey complex rowing techniques to beginners. I aimed to share my passion with young rowers and instil the same sense of community and camaraderie as a squad and whole boat club that I felt at school. I helped with allocation and logistics of boats, oars, and a myriad of other equipment at training and competitions. -
Vacation ScholarshipCsiro Nov 2014 - Feb 2015Hobart, TasmaniaI created a program in Matlab to read and process data logged by an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) which had conducted small scale oceanographic surveys. Major tasks I completed include writing comprehensive code to visualise the data from sensors measuring properties of the water for scientists, and to analyse the behaviour and performance of the AUV from an engineering perspective to assess vehicle performance and make recommendations for future iterations. Working collaboratively with the other students and consulting CSIRO scientists, we designed a laboratory experiment to determine the centre of mass of the AUV. We also had access to a 3D printer and assessed the suitability of part designs for additive manufacturing. -
InternDlr Apr 2014 - Oct 2014Stuttgart Area, GermanyI used the programming language Python to implement heat transfer and thermodynamic theory to predict wall temperatures of re-entry vehicles and combustion chambers subject to transpiration cooling. I used a program that modelled transpiration cooled systems to analyse temperatures experienced by a re-entry vehicle flown in 2012, and I edited code to analyse temperatures experienced in cylindrical and rectangular ducts with combustion or hot gas flow. I created graphical user interfaces for the program, an animation of the 2012 flight data, and implemented testing in the pre existing code. I also attempted a Schlieren photography experiment to visualise flow around a model of the next re-entry vehicle currently being designed. -
Administrative AssistantHobart Day Surgery Jan 2010 - Mar 2014Hobart, TasmaniaI developed strong communication and customer service skills in this role at front reception of the day surgery. I was responsible for patient admissions, ensuring that surgery lists ran on time and that patients had a comfortable visit. I also communicated with doctors, nurses, admin staff at other practices, couriers, and health insurance representatives on a daily basis. I upheld a high level of thoroughness and attention to detail due to the sensitive nature of medical procedures. I completed other administration duties such as data entry, documentation, filing, and ordering. I enjoyed the opportunity to work in the admin team while also taking responsibility for individual tasks. I have worked on and off here in between my studies and developed a strong rapport with the staff.
