I support high school students who struggle with executive functioning and organizational skills. My areas of expertise are English, French and history, but I have also done extensive tutoring in Biology, Spanish and other classes where writing is required. I work with students who have a variety of diagnosed learning differences, such as ADD, ADHD, dyslexia and processing differences. I love to support students who need help with writing, reading comprehension and organization. I have also worked with students prepare to take the SAT and ACT, as well as to write college essays and college applications. In August 2022 I completed 60 hours of training at the Classroom Educator and Associate Levels of the Orton-Gillingham Academy.

English teacher for 10th – 12th grade students in AP, advanced and standard courses entitled “Genre Studies” and “British Literature.” Also created and taught senior elective courses: “Creative Nonfiction Writing,” “Victorian Literature” and “Voices of the Harlem Renaissance.”Served as tenth grade Academic Dean, supporting the sophomore class academically by meeting with them individually and as a class. Met with administrative team quarterly to review the class performance. Worked to develop the tenth grade Leadership and Ethics curriculum.Worked as dorm head on an upper class girls’ dorm. Provided a healthy and balanced living environment. Responded to emotional and medical situations. Monitored facilities issues. Met weekly with administrative team to discuss situations on dorm. Advised and supervised faculty dorm team members and student leaders. Worked as dorm faculty on a freshman girls’ dorm prior to being named dorm head.Worked as a faculty advisor to a group of 6 – 8 students. Served as their primary faculty contact and supported them academically and emotionally as their ‘in loco parentis’. Served as indoor (winter) and outdoor (spring) track coach for both distance and sprint groups. Worked as newspaper adviser and Literary Magazine adviser. Co-led a bi-monthly Bible study for female high school students. Sponsored the high school Girl Up club.Participated in a yearlong SEED (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) training program withcolleagues, September 2011- May 2012.Recipient of the William B. Ravenel III Mastership for Excellence in the Teaching of English, 2013, 2015. Recipient of the Faculty Incentive Award for Young Professionals, 2011, 2012.

English teacher for ninth and eleventh grade students in honors and standard courses entitled “World Literature and Composition” and “British Literature and Composition.” Served as Yearbook adviser, Varsity girls’ cross-country coach, Varsity swimming coach. Middle School track coach. Taught a Bible study for female high school students. Sponsored the high school environmental club, initiating and coordinating school participation in South East Green Cup Challenge focused on reducing energy usage winter 2009. Served as head leader for mission and service trips over spring vacations, traveling to Peru, post-Katrina New Orleans, El Salvador and Guatemala.Selected by senior class as recipient of Wolftracks Yearbook Dedication, May 2009. Recipient of the Georgia Independent School Association Loveday Grant for Summer Study and Research, which funded travel to Greatham, England to study at the English L’Abri Study Center. June 2007.
