MRCIS is a platform for connecting industry professionals with graduate students and faculty members in the fields of chemistry, biochemistry and chemical biology. It fosters networking and communication between companies and academics and encourages dialog on how industry and academia can best benefit each other.As the Conference Organizer, I oversee all aspects of planning. This includes fundraising and sponsorship, event planning and logistics, attracting industry participation, and promotions. During the conference I co-ordinated networking sessions with over 20 industry representatives and 120 students, and increased company participation by over 50% and student attendance by 60% from the previous year.

The David B. MacLean Lecture Series takes place annually and is organized and run by graduate students in honour of the late Professor David B. MacLean, in recognition of his contributions to research and teaching in the Department of Chemistry at McMaster. Previous MacLean Lecturers have included Profs. Robert Grubbs (2015), Tobias Ritter (2014), Craig Hawker (2013), Fraser Stoddart (2012) and Laura Kiessling (2011).As the 2016 MacLean Lecture Organizer, I was responsible for inviting a speaker who has made notable contributions to the field of chemistry. Additionally, I was responsible for planning all aspects of the Lecture Series, from transportation and logistics, to promotions and speaker introductions, and for hosting the speaker during his time at McMaster University.

The MCGSS acts as a voice for graduate student needs, organizes academic and social events, gives back to the community through donations, and represents the interests of graduate students in departmental matters. As MCGSS President, I oversee all aspects of planning, budgeting and fundraising by the society, including the management of a four member executive team. I manage a budget of over $5000 and assist in fundraising for both our society and for our annual donation to Hamilton Food Share. Key events organized by MCGSS include undergraduate lab manual sales, the Departmental Holiday Party, Chemistry Career Info Day, and the annual Departmental BBQ.
