ICT Technician and Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support and deliver of the National Curriculum to 8-11 year olds. Creation and delivery of New Computing curriculum to KS1 and KS2. Management of school's IT network. Recognising gaps in learning to plan and deliver tailored learning programs independently, reporting to teachers & Governors, using innovative and creative ideas to provide additional learning experiences. Re-designed and maintain the school website using KCC 'eisite' (http://www.barham.kent.sch.uk) within a strict budget. The website behaves as the school's 'shop window' attracting new parents and hence increasing the school's overall budgetary allowance. It is also the main portal for sharing information between school and parents, consolidating resources, providing policy and legally required documents electronically, linking to other relevent educational websites and allowing feedback. I also provide IT training and support to all children and staff as appropriate (Microsoft Product suite, Open Office, ActiveInspire, GIS and much more). Designed the new Computing curriculum for the entire school and I am now the sole teacher to deliver the scheme to all KS2 children, including digital literacy, ICT and computer science (programming and the science of programming).

Whilst on maternity leave with my second child I created my own sewing business, Victor Violet (www.victorviolet.co.uk) to design and create items for babies and young children. After being featured in a magazine this quickly escalated to producing upholstery, curtains and clothing. I continue to sew after school hours and also teach children the life skills sewing provides at school.

Whilst on maternity leave with my first child I created my own Limited company to source and supply party products. Set up agreements with local children's venues to supply all party items. Managed all elements of the company from marketing to website management and accounts.

Working with the Programme Management Team, my job was to liaise between the teams of technical developers, database managers, sales & marketing managers, product specialists & a broad range of multi-level customers & end users (including Defence Estates, Local Authorities and quangos) to ensure a high specification end product is delivered within strict budgets & timescales. This could entail the development of bespoke, customised or off-the-shelf applications depending on the business requirement. Strong presentation & literacy skills were required to provide a sensitively tailored delivery to a range of participants from techies to technophobes! My largest project, £1million+, was to create a bespoke Terrier system to allow Defence Estates to manage their company assets electronically for the first time within an intranet environment. This large project required a competitive tender with external data capture companies & creation of Service Level Agreements. It was vital to have a working knowledge of all stages of product delivery including: technical architecture; systematic & sympathetic requirements gathering (suggesting technical enhancements and prioritising where appropriate); configuration management; risk assessment; clear documentation tailored for all parties; systematic quality & user testing & training strategies; interfacing with existing applications with consideration given to differing data formats; user support and managing requests for change to ensure high user satisfaction and official sign-off. The project operated under strict, measurable guidelines to ensure a deliverable that was fit for purpose & met both the tangible & intangible project requirements. Consideration was given to staged PRINCE2 & SSADM techniques throughout all projects. Thorough use of Microsoft Office (Project, Excel, Word, Powerpoint & Publisher) & in-house logging systems. Working knowledge of all ESRI products (ArcGIS, ArcINFO, ArcSDE) and MrSID.

Working under the Official Secrets Act to develop in-house IT solutions tailored to specific business model requirements delivered within a PRINCE framework. To liaise with American counterparts to enhance inter-agency data handling techniques. Additional security clearances gained allowed me to participate in projects with high data security implications. Use of ArcGIS and SQL Windows. PRINCE 2 Foundation and Risk Management training courses attended and applied.

Working within the UK Management team my role was to facilitate gathering and incorporation of digital mapping data which I achieved by developing an extensive contact network within local government and other organisations. The data gathered provided core navigation functions that are still used today in well known satellite navigation devices and applications (for example Bing Maps, Here.com, Garmin Sat-Navs). Systematic gathering of data in a variety of formats was essential as was the application of strict quality guidelines to permit the company to achieve ISO 9000 accreditation. Manage a team of Geographic Researchers to gather and enter geographic digital data into an internationally shared database, liaise with European counterparts daily to ensure adherence to strict coding agreements, regular visits to American data processing teams to present UK specific coding issues and assist with problem solving. Use of in-house GIS systems (ARCAS, CICS and GWS).
